Information

With the Beneteau Oceanis 41 for Sale in Cape Town, the heart of the Oceanis range has a yacht of incomparable volume and a design with elegant lines. Her new generation hull promises comfortable, fast sailing.

The mainsail arch enables you to sail in complete safety and at the same time gives you more space in the cockpit. The continuous chine over the full length of the boat creates excellent hull rigidity. With limited heel, the yacht’s sea keeping is improved without you losing speed.

The expansive cockpit, with twin steering stations and a clever, innovative convertible transom that folds open to become a handy swim ladder and boarding platform (while greatly increasing the “floor plan” and living space at anchor), is a place to which sailors will naturally gravitate.

Under sail, the Oceanis 41 is a solid performer, registering upwind speeds in the mid-6s on a mild afternoon with the breeze in the low teens and knocking off a solid 8 knots when cracked off on a broad reach with a fully unfurled main and slightly overlapped jib set on a generous double-spreader, fractional, high-aspect rig. In puffier air, the furling main and jib were quickly and efficiently shortened to balance the sail plan. The Goiot wheels were light and responsive; the boat is a joy to drive.

The signature fiberglass arch—a feature on many new Beneteau’s—and elevated mainsheet bridle does more than keep the mainsheet out of the way. It also serves as the backbone for a dodger or bimini. Halyards, control lines and reefing lines are logically clustered around rope clutches on either side of the companionway.

A solidly fastened double bow roller keeps anchors and chain away from the relatively plumb stem. It can also be used as the tack point for a removable furling jib or asymmetric spinnaker.
